The Heerema Fabrication Group has internal risk management and control systems based on the principles of effective management control and tailored to the day-to-day working environment in which Heerema Fabrication Group operates. The role of HFG is to pursue, maintain and advance the internal risk management and control systems throughout the company.
Safety, Health, Environment & Quality
Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) strives to excel and exceed our client's expectations, and to attain the ultimate objective of an accident-free workplace.
Continual improvement of the health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) performance is of prime importance to Heerema Fabrication Group. The company aims for operations with the highest quality and without a single health, safety and environment related incident. Good HSEQ performance is recognized as an indicator of the effective overall management of the company. It is, with this in mind, that the Management System has been put in place to cover the combined activities of Quality Assurance, Health & Safety Environment and Security. This is designed to be compliant with the requirements of the following International Standards:
- ISO 90001: 2000 Quality Management Systems requirements
- ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Systems
- OHSAS 18001: 1999 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems

Heerema Fabrication Group is committed to a safe and accident free working environment. In support of this commitment, we have implemented the 7 Rules of Safety. These rules are applicable to all our employees, subcontractors and visitors and address the risks associated with our business activities. CHEQSERT
Benchmarking and improvement of the Management System is ensured by the CHEQSERT (Combined Heerema Environmental Quality Safety Evaluation Rating Tool) system. CHEQSERT is a Heerema Fabrication Group customized assessment protocol, which covers a framework of controls that together drive HSEQ performance and continual improvement of Heerema Fabrication Group. Through CHEQSERT the company strives to achieve a Management System which exceeds industry standards. The CHEQSERT protocol is being continually developed and fully integrated in the systems of Heerema Fabrication Group and is the backbone for assuring delivery of projects in accordance with clients' expectations.
Heerema Fabrication Group will continue to do this by means of regular exchange of experience and best practices in the company, clients, subcontractors and all other stakeholders. Communication of the corporate policies and expectations to all stakeholders are therefore central. Workshops with Heerema Fabrication Group staff and clients are conducted regularly to communicate the company's expectations and emphasize the importance of our policies.
